As a passionate traveler going on safari was a big dream for me. It’s one of the experiences that takes your breath away and makes your heart race when facing a wild animal. How can you top that? Well, to complete this bush experience, I stayed at the Pezulu Tree House Lodge in the middle of the Guernsey Private Game Reserve. It was by far the most amazing accommodation I have ever stayed in! Read here why staying at Pezulu Tree House Lodge is a safari must.
Sleeping high in the sky at Pezulu Tree House Lodge
The ten unique tree lodges are built on four to seven-meter-high poles in the bush. Trees are not only outside the lodge, but they grow inside as well, as part of the interior. How cool is it to have a tree growing in your lodge, which doubles as a table? Quite special! But there is more. Watch the sunset over the bush from your own private viewing deck or enjoy a sundowner in the creative treetop bar. Although I was unlucky to have rain during my stay, that didn’t ruin anything for me! Why? One word, jacuzzi! Sitting in a tree jacuzzi with breath-taking views over the bush, while sipping a glass of wine, nothing wrong with that.
Breakfast in the bush
You can book morning and afternoon safaris at Pezulu Tree House Lodge. I would recommend going on the morning safari. The downside, waking up at 04.30 am, but it was so worth it. The game drives are in the Manyeleti Game Reserve which has open borders with the Kruger National Park. I was lucky to see one of the only 250 cheetah’s living in the Kruger Park. Half way through the safari you stop for breakfast in the bush! I loved the idea of drinking tea, knowing wild animals could be anywhere around you, so exciting!
