In Citytrips, Destinations, Food, USA

Miami is a great city. When I was a flight attendant I was Lucky to spend a few weekends here. Well, it was only 48 hours at each time but that’s more than enough time to soak up the fun that Miami has to offer! Of course it was always a full program of eating and drinking my way through the city. As a real Dutchy there was a bit of cycling involved from time to time. Whenever I see a bike I just need to jump on it, you can’t blame me! Here is my advice how to rock Miami in 48 hours.

+ Uber your way to South Beach

Okay, maybe not the best place to be but if you’re in Miami at least visit Ocean Drive once. You will see some crazy things happening here. Girls parading in bikini’s and guys working out. People start dancing on the street, this is a place when you can sit and drink your too expensive drink and just people watch.

+ Wynwood Walls

If you’re not a big fan of grafitti art you are about to become one. The Wynwood area is covered with the most amazing artworks. Especially the Wynwood Walls are a must visit. Or even better, rent a bike and explore the artworks by bicycle.

 + Bodega taco’s and cocktails

Taco’s are hot and happening in Miami. My favourite place is Bodega. At first you have no clue what the fuzz is about. There is a caravan where you can order tacos. But if you look closer you will  find a back door. Don’t get me wrong the taco’s are great but the experience behind the secret door made my day. Inside you will find an awesome cocktail bar/dance bar. And for the girls, heels are not obligated, yes!

+ Hotspot Kyu

Kyu is a wood-fired Asian restaurant which is open for lunch and dinner. I went here for dinner and the food was incredible. Especially the Burrata and the Beef short ribs, amazing! I’m not even a rib fan but these were very, very tender. Kyu just opened in early 2016 and it has become the food place to be in Miami! You might want to book in advance, enjoy.

+ Poolparty Hyde Beach

On Saturday and Sunday it’s time to party in your bathing suit at Hyde Beach. A DJ is playing nice tunes, the sun is shining and the pool is filled with beautiful people. I went here on Sunday after a late night drinking cocktails, a great way to recover.

+ Nikki Beach

On Sunday this is the place to be. Nikki Beach is not the cheapest place but you can have a blast. Nothing beats dancing in your bikini with your feet in the sand while sipping a nice cold drink. One bad thing, people here like to give you a Champagne shower, what a waste!
