In Destinations, Mexico

Villas Geminis Boutique Condo Hotel is situated right in the heart of the town. From the outside it’s just stone walls but the minute you open the gate it’s like walking into an oasis of peace. The fish pond, lush garden and colourful flowers are just beautiful. I felt very relaxed during my whole stay and this is why…

+ Vincent van Gogh

The staff are all very friendly, and after a long day it was nice that someone helped me with my luggage. Each apartment/studio has its own theme. I stayed at Vincent, quite ironic because I live almost next to the Vincent van Gogh museum in Amsterdam. The apartment has two floors, two bedrooms and two bathrooms – it’s simply huge! The artworks, Buddha’s, incenses and quotes on the wall are a perfect mix of Mexican, Asian and a bit of Dutch. Artworks by Vincent van Gogh give it that ‘extra touch’.

+ Relaxing at Villas Geminis Boutique Condo Hotel

For me relaxing means laying in a hammock. Vincent offers two of them! Happy days for me. That combined with an occasional jump in the pool, some sunbathing on the beds, was just heavenly. The breakfast corner was another highlight. Inside the garden next to the fish pond is where you eat breakfast. Breakfast at Villas Geminis is small but there is still enough to choose from. I had yoghurt, fruit, chia seeds and granola with eggs. Perfect to start off the day I would say.

+ Cycling in Tulum

Wait, there is more. Villas Geminis offers free bikes! I may have mentioned it before but bikes are my thing (being Dutch and all!!), just a great way to discover Tulum.
